ROSS LAIRD has worked as a librarian and researcher, and has worked in the media in Australia and Hong Kong. He is currently a sound archivist at the Australian National Screen and Sound Archive in Canberra. He is the author of Tantalizing Tingles: A Discography of Early Ragtime, Jazz, and Novelty Syncopated Piano Recordings, 1889-1934 (Greenwood, 1995) and Moanin' Low: A Discography of Female Popular Vocal Recordings, 1920-1933 (Greenwood, 1996).
