Vehicle security has been a topic of great interest over the years due to the increasing vehicle theft cases reported all over the world. In Uganda, most cars are still using the conventional alarm system which is easily handled by car thieves because of its weakness in tuning and adjustment. For instance, there may be so many car alarms that are too sensitive, while the rest can withstand a major earthquake without a single beep thus the public lost interest in them since they could be falsely triggered. In addition, this conventional alarm system does not provide any means of assisting in the recovery of stolen vehicle and it also has limited vehicle to owner interaction. By the time the police are alerted, the vehicles are either dismantled or sold in neighboring states or districts at throw-away prices, leaving the owner and police helpless in bringing the thief to book.
