Mobility management in wireless and mobile ad-hoc networks is one of the most relevant issues now a days. It refers to handling movements of mobile nodes in wireless and adhoc environments in such a way that overall system performance improves. The areas of our work are as follows: 1. Analysis of mobility management schemes including location management and handoff management for wireless and mobile ad-hoc networks. 2. Proposal of new time-based probabilistic and relational location management scheme for wireless networks. 3. Improvement of handoff management service by incorporating fuzzy logic-a novel concept. 4. Exploring node location management using dynamically positioned informers, organized hierarchically. 5. Analysis of the present status of IPv6 address autoconfiguration for mobile ad-hoc networks and proposal of IPv6 address autoconfiguration process in MANET using leaders. 6. Exploring TCP performance in MANET by proposing a new TCP scheme. 7. A proposal for mobility management including address autoconfiguration to pick up the overall performance for larger mobile ad-hoc networks. 8. A scheme of warning of flood through employment of wireless technologies.
