The study of the mechanisms of perception of olfactory stimuli at the level of the peripheral olfactory sensory system is an urgent problem of modern physiology, biophysics and medicine. The peripheral outgrowths of olfactory cells end in a mace that carries on its surface mobile olfactory flagella, whose receptors interact with the molecules of odorous substances. This work is devoted to the study of the motor activity of olfactory flagella in amphibians and mammals, as well as in humans in the absence and under the influence of odorous substances. The book is intended for biologists and a wide range of those interested in the problems of cell physiology and cell motility.
