There is a need to complement the surgical training of general surgery residents with an interest in the laparoscopic approach. The tendency to seek additional training may be a result of resident's lack of confidence in their ability to treat surgical diseases. Therefore, the development of a training model focused on this problem is reasonable. The book proposes a model for training by simulation of surgical anastomosis based on the manufacture of a laparoscopic gastrostomy. Other related topics are discussed, such as: evaluation tools, appraisal point, training curriculum, financing, learning curve, results of a training conducted in Brazil and an alternative model. It is hoped that the proposed training will contribute to the professional life of future surgeons who begin their surgical training and prepare them to begin the training of non-mechanical anastomoses in humans.
