The book provides a basic understanding of the properties of open channel flow and their importance in practical field. It demonstrates a laboratory experiment conducted in a tilting hydraulic flume at Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar, India for modeling flow velocity and determination of hydraulic parameters of open channel flow. The study also analyzes the effects of different channel bed slopes and discharge conditions on the hydraulic parameters and vertical velocity profiles developed at different sections along the channel. The results of this study reveal that friction factor is much more sensitive to change in bed slope and discharge as compared to other parameters.
