Benelux is an intergovernmental organization that is a political, economic and customs union in Western Europe comprising three monarchies: Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.Benelux is a great example of how three countries can work together to solve different problems: economic, political and social. Dutch and French are the official languages of Benelux and its institutions. Of the total population (27.6 million) of the Member States, 22.6 million (82%) live in the Netherlands and Flanders, where Dutch is the official language. The Benelux Economic Union was at its most active before the creation of the EEC, which included all three countries on January 1, 1958. Subsequently, many problems that were difficult to solve within the Benelux were solved at the EEC level. There are 16 chapters in the monograph, touching upon the issues of geography, history and current state of the three Benelux countries. Special attention is paid to the problems of formation and development of the tourism sector and training of personnel for tourism activities of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
