Set against the social landscape of the time is Thomson's personal story - the trauma of sexual abuse and coming to terms with being an outsider. Though the time and place are specific, the themes of Modernist Dreams Brutalist Nightmares are universal.

LG Thomson is an author who specialises in compelling characters, gripping plots, and gallows humour. Thomson's novels include noir thriller Boyle's Law and pandemic thriller Each New Morn. Her writing has appeared in a wide range of anthologies and literary publications, including Wyldblood Magazine, Epoch Press, and Art North. Thomson now lives in Ullapool, a small fishing village on the northwest coast of Scotland, lying on the same latitude as Lost Cove, Alaska.
