The reliability of the real estate registry systems and their coincidence of the cadastral location with the boundaries described in the registered property deeds, is fundamental for economic development and market efficiency, hence the efforts made, historically, in El Salvador to modernize them according to the available technological advances. This paper describes recent initiatives in this area based on the Government's strategic vision towards the digital transformation of the State apparatus in general, as a sine qua non condition to create the material and legal conditions necessary to make the country attractive for investment.
