Throw some lights on some chemical modifications of acrylic fibres to attain better properties. Improvements of ion-exchange, hydrophilicity, conductivity, antimicrobial, fire resistance, tensile strength, dyeability, performance properties (thermal stability, smoother surface and antipilling properties) are reported. Improvement of these properties can give the fibres an important position between the textile fibres, and the modified fibres become more convenient in different uses.
