Isolation and identification of naturally occurring pentacyclic triterpinoid (Boswellic acids), tetra cyclic triterpnoids (Tirucallic acids) from Boswellia serrata. Synthesized novel hybrid molecules using boswellic acids with NSAIDs and studied their anti-inflammatory, anti-arthritic activity on in vivo models. Enhancement of biologically potent molecule from naturally occurring mixture of boswellic acids by converting them into one by allylic oxidation using various oxidizing agents and optimized the best one. Boswellic acid nanoparticles were prepared and analysed using SEM technique. Naturally occurring boswellic acids which are anti-inflammatory agents are lipophylic in nature and thus become a limiting factor in terms of their bioavailability. Hence for first time succefully prepared water soluble glycosides of 11-keto-beta-boswellic acids. Synthesized novel A-ring modified via second order Beckmann rearrangement compounds from 3-oxo-tircallic acid evaluated for their anticancer activity against human cancer cell lines and discovered that the A-ring modified compounds were showed the improved anticancer activity specially on prostate caner cell line.
