The practice of conscious sedation by inhalation of an equimolar mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide is one of the most widely used methods of reducing or eliminating anxiety in phobic or disabled patients. Since 2009, the MOEPA has been off the hospital reserve and is licensed for use in private practice. First of all, this work deals with the properties, indications and contraindications and regulations of the MOEPA. In order to improve knowledge about the use and perception of MOEPA in liberal practice, a national online questionnaire survey of licensed practitioners was conducted. The quantitative and qualitative results, through thematic analysis of the responses, show that practitioners are generally satisfied with this method of sedation, although difficulties remain, particularly in terms of funding, indications and management of the most complex patients. These data make it possible to offer perspectives and proposals in terms of training and care, which may lead to an improvement in the health of anxious and disabled patients.
