Produktbeschreibung
Moidl is a farmer?s daughter from the Hohenhauser Farm in Hintertux in the Zillertal region of Tyrol. Her close bonds with her family and the farm are her lifeblood, and the various blows they are dealt by fate only serve to make these ties stronger. She remains unmarried, labouring day after day from early morning to late at night on the farm.
At a market, she comes across Hermann, an orphan of only twelve years of age who is desperately seeking a job in order to survive and is passed around like an unwanted animal. Out of pity and because they can always use an extra pair of hands on the Hohenhauser farm, Moidl takes the boy home with her, where he shows himself to be a hard worker and is soon a great help to the farmer Thomas and to Moidl herself. When Thomas dies, Moidl has to take over the farm at the age of 76. And soon, the question is, who will run the farm in the future? For Moidl and her ancestors, one thing was always clear: the farm had to remain in the family
In this book, Hermann Egger tells a heart-rending, yet gripping and above all authentic story that of his own family.
Autorenporträt
Hermann Egger was born in 1963 and grew up on the farm and the associated guesthouse, the 'Gästepension Hohenhaus,? in Hintertux in the Austrian state of Tyrol. He attended the monastery boarding school in Fiecht in Tyrol, served an apprenticeship as a chef and spent several years working in the profession in Austria and Switzerland in preparation for his later career. Today, he is an entrepreneur. Over many years, he wrote down the stories which were handed down from generation to generation in his family as told to him by his mother and, at the suggestion of publisher Klaus G. Förg, decided to publish this authentic report from contemporary witnesses in the form of a novel.
