Have you ever noticed how often it is that the private lives of famous people are a mess, yet somehow, the world still manages to convince us that it would be great to be famous, to be widely recognized and rewarded for our accomplishments? Some people have a list of goals they want to attain in life. They are convinced that these accomplishments will make them feel fulfilled, however, when they acquire all that they want, they still have feelings of emptiness and become disillusioned with life. Let us consider the story of Victoria. She grew up in an average middle-class family. She loved school and was in the homecoming court all four years of high school. After some tragic events in her family which included the passing of loved ones during her formative teenage years, she began to experiment with drugs and alcohol. She subsequently was raped, underwent multiple abortions and started working as a dancer at local strip clubs which she continued to do for four years.
