I am Shamarko Thomas, a former NFL player who played for six years for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2013. I was suffering from mental health issues and thought it was normal because I had been like this my whole life, but it is not. It was easy for me to spiral down with a lot of anger, anxiety, stress, depression, and child trauma, but I was scared to ask for help. By not getting help and putting it off made it worse. With no help, I wasn't getting better, so I prayed and gain the courage needed to ask for help. When I asked I received help from the recovery center needed that has transformed me into the man I am today.
