Are you more than a mom? Has motherhood been all you expected and anticipated it to be? Have you felt well-supported in your motherhood journey? If you answered no to any of these questions, this book is for you. Moms Are The Strongest Men is a collection of poems written by Raquel Medora offering readers a compelling invitation to find solace, camaraderie, and empowerment within the shared journey of motherhood. She dives right into the complexities of motherhood in contemporary USA. This book takes inspiration from problems like the expectation on mothers to take on the primary caregiving role in an increasingly isolated, nuclear family setting, the strains imposed by a consumerist and toxically perfectionistic society, restrictive anti-abortion legislation, and sexual objectification of women. Despite the anti-woman, and in many ways, anti-mother political climate today, Raquel Medora's poems illuminate the resilience and strength that define modern-day moms. With a splash of sarcasm, sass, humor, and joy, she navigates the emotional terrain of grief, loss, and rage that often accompany the journey of being a mother.
