When a generational bond gets a little too tight, Claire moves to the other side of the globe to distance herself from an old family drama veiled with mystery. But the past slithers its way into her new life. Old photographs, sketchbooks, and weird omens all point to the Accident that happened forty years ago and damaged three generations of women in her family. Now Claire has no choice but to find out the truth and answer one of the most important questions if a mother hates her child, does it really matter why?

Autorenporträt
Masha Denyshchenko was born in Kyiv, on a drizzly November day in 1989. She studied linguistics and learned five languages with varying degrees of fluency. In August 2017 she moved to Berlin along with her family and started slowly falling in love with the city. She is a 9 to 5 QA, a 24/7 mother, a life-long avid reader, and a full-time daydreamer. Masha created new worlds and alternative realities ever since she had learned to write and now debuts her story-telling in English. As a writer, she prefers a mix of genres. To serve her signature story she takes some magical realism/fantasy dough, adds realistic characters, kneads all the ingredients with a spoonful of mystery, and generously sprinkles it all with humor and reflection.
