Born in the Welsh mining valleys, Caroline Jones Lewis was adopted at an early age and brought up in the West County. Grammar school educated, she enjoyed a career in office and accounts management both abroad and in the City of London, where she earned the Freedom of the City. In later years she has fostered, for short periods, a number of children and young people removed from unsafe environments. Now retired, she has time to indulge her passion for writing, influenced by the classics including; Dickens, Jane Austin, the Bronte sisters, and the classical poets and by favoured contemporary writers such as Khaled Hosseini, Marcus Zusak and the poetry of Maya Angelou. She has a strong interest in the condition of society and in the pursuit of social justice.
