The EU has consistently supported Mongolia's democracy, social and economic transformation and its transition from the very beginning, and is actively developing development cooperation with Mongolia since 1993. Mongolia having proceeded along the democratic path fairly steadily and witnessing an emerging political elite untainted by any association with the communist past, the relations it has with an organization publicly highlighting its respect for democratic principles and human rights will shed light on its future trajectory. This book aims to fill the gap in the existing academic literature with regard to Mongolian foreign policy in general and with the EU in particular.
Autorenporträt
Dr Sureyya Yigit is a graduate of the London School of Economics, Cambridge University and Donetsk National University. His research interest focuses on Greater Central Asia and he has lectured at several universities in Scandinavia, Central Asia and Turkey. He is currently the Senior Consultant to ZDS Women¿s Democracy Network in Kyrgyzstan.
