To provide adequate quantity of safe drinking water to citizens KOTA AUGMENTATION WATER SUPPLY SCHEME has been enlisted in the State Budget of Chhattisgarh State.As per 2011 Census, consolidated population of the town was 18405. At present, the inhabitants are not getting drinking water. Hence, to cater to the specified water demand @ 135 LPCD + losses as per guide lines as per norms to the entire population of the Town. The design period adopted for the proposed 30 years as per norms and different components have been designed accordingly. Urban Water Supply project on water supply and Treatment, the projected population has been anticipated for the year 2020 i.e on completion of project is 21793 after 15 years in the year 2035 population will be 28540 and after 30 years i.e. in the year 2050 population will be 37111. Ultimate water demand has been worked out to be 5.8941 MLD. An proposed raw water sump on the side of Left Bank Canal of Ghonga Reservoir is considered as Source for the scheme. Source is adequate to meet ultimate years water demand for source sustainability. Pumping is proposed for 20 hours which is the average duration of the power supply available in the Town.
