Harry and Mary start out on a warm, sunny day, walking along an old gravel road that leads out of town. Harry and Mary start out on a warm, sunny day, walking along an old gravel road that leads out of town. They're busy collecting beautiful, glittering rocks, adding them to their basket for their rock collection. But they wander much too far on that gravel road, which eventually leads to Mr. O'Malley's Mansion. It's rumored that Mr. O'Malley lives with a mean, vicious monster in that old mansion. The local townsfolk won't go anywhere near the place, and Harry and Mary had no intention to go near it, either. But then a violent storm kicked up unexpectedly, catching the children off guard and defenseless against the elements. With rain pouring down on them, drenching them to the bone, and lightning flashing all arouond them, they have no choice but to seek shelter at Mr. O'Malley's Mansion. After they climb the steps leading to the front door, Harry knocks hard so his knock can be heard above the earsplitting thunder. The door opens at the first knock, seemingly on its own. A voice from the darkness within tells them to enter, just as a shadow in the window flits by. "Come in," the voice demands again. Harry and Mary are shaking with fright. Should they enter? Would YOU? A scary story for readers and listeners ages 5 and up. Featuring a foreword by Ms. Pat Priest ("Marilyn Munster").
