Joy Spicer was born in sunshiny Malaysia where, thanks to her dad who loved reading, she grew up surrounded by books and found magic in European fairy tales and Hindu mythological stories. She dreamt up stories from a young age, acting them out to herself and her toys. She only started writing in her late 20s to relieve the boredom of being stuck behind the till in a quiet part of her workplace. Joy has lived in England for over half her life, and has made her home in Dorset, where, if you look hard enough, you can find some fairy tale hints in the countryside. She lives with her two sons and three cats. Visit Joy at www.joyvspicer.com where you can get in touch via the 'Contact' page.
