This publication offers a systematic overview of the deficit situation of recruitment of South consultants in the broad field of German development aid. Donor agencies and other decision-makers still prefer expertise form the North. The insight views given by five South consultants and two North consultants can be applied worldwide. By this it is demonstrated why development cannot become selfreliant through false models of development aid.
