Merlin B. Thompson is an award-winning music educator, scholar, and pianist with over four decades of music studio teaching experience. He has worked with hundreds of music teachers, students, and parents in workshops, conferences, established programs, and mentorships throughout Canada, the United States, Australia, Japan, Spain, Great Britain, Brazil, and New Zealand. His recent academic teaching experiences include music pedagogy for undergraduate students in the Schulich School of Music at McGill University and professional development and a social justice approach to K-12 diversity for B.Ed. students in the Werklund School of Education at U Calgary. He is the creator and producer of the podcasts series The Music Educator's Crucible. His video series Fundamental Piano Technique is available on Youtube.
