Autorenporträt
Dr. Brent L. Kendrick, a distinguished educator and scholar, has embarked on his third career chapter after a successful 23-year tenure as a Professor of English. He has received numerous accolades, including being named one of Virginia's top educators and receiving the Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence and the Susan S. Wood Professorship for Teaching Excellence. Before academia, he had a 25-year career at the Library of Congress, where he received the Distinguished Service Award. In 2023, he published two books: In Bed: My Year of Foolin' Around, a collection of 57 creative nonfiction essays, and Green Mountain Stories, a collection of 28 stories by Mary E. Wilkins Freeman, a contemporary of Mark Twain's. Known for his scholarly work on Freeman, Kendrick is working on a new two-volume book focusing on her life and letters. Dr. Kendrick's reinvention showcases continuous growth and creativity, demonstrating a vibrant and dynamic evolution.
