The use of irrigation is important for the viability of commercial exploitation of the bean crop, especially in the semi-arid region of the Northeast, due to the irregularity of rainfall. However, inadequate irrigation management has led to soil salinisation, causing reductions in the morphological characteristics of crops in general. With this in mind, the aim was to assess the effects of different levels of irrigation water salinity on the morphological behaviour of two cowpea cultivars. The experiment was conducted in open-air pots in the experimental area of the Agrometereological Station of the Federal University of Ceará, Fortaleza, Ceará. A split-plot randomised block design was used, where the salinity levels were distributed in the plots and the cultivars in the sub-plots.
