Data, obtained from both the morphological characteristics and developmental time, fulfill the previous information and provide new supportive evidences for identification of this blow fly species and application in forensic investigation, particularly when C. megacephala is present in human cadavers. Moreover, they may be useful as baseline data in its biology study in the future from this study may be useful in identifying the larval stages and age of larvae of this blow fly in detail. Identification of species based on morphological characteristics were controversial due to complex evolutionary changes. So the genetic analysis of mtDNA has conducted to resolve the controversial taxonomic problem recently. By using DNA barcoding method we can easily discriminate the morphologically similar specie. Using this method C. megacephala is identified.
