Mosaic is an exploration of urban life in Hell's Kitchen. Blending personal memories in vivid imagery and rich in historical detail, each poem is a window into a moment of past time that portrays the dynamics of community life and the inevitability of change. The waterfront poems about the Hudson River's ferries and piers add a sense of nostalgia for things past. The poems about the playgrounds-places of tragedy and triumph-capture the essence of the neighborhood and its residents. Mosaic is an evocative, thought-provoking, personal view of life in Hell's Kitchen.
