Mother, May I? is an evolutionary journey between a mother and a daughter from the daughter's teenage years to adulthood. The poems celebrate the bonding of mother and daughter through inspiration, humor, tragedy, and communication. Mother and daughter share generational conversations and explore topics such as sex, politics, and race, which both divide and unite them. This book should be shared with mothers and daughters alike, everywhere, to keep hope, persevere, and to get to the point in their relationship where they finally bond. About the Authors-Dr. Judy White is a Deputy Superintendent in a large urban school district and the founder of the "City of Readers" program, which began as her vision to unite the city and promote literacy in order to improve the quality of life for all. Kristina Spalding holds a bachelors degree in paralegal studies, works for a community college and has volunteered for the "City of Readers" program for more than six years. Mother, May I? is based on Judy and Kristina's life experiences, the things they've learned from each other, and the things they've learned from other mother/daughter relationships. All of the stories are true.
