The aim of this research was to describe the interactions, practices, context and discourses that mothers in the zero to always programme in the rural area of the municipality of Marinilla have with their children aged 3 to 5 years and the relationship with their experiences of upbringing. An ethnographic approach was used and the techniques for data collection were participant observation and the focus group. Data analysis was carried out through the saturation of categories and subcategories, after which axial coding was carried out to analyse the data. The results show the importance of parenting beliefs as a fundamental basis for parenting patterns and practices.
