Autorenporträt
Born in Gloucester, the author spent his entire working career as a translator, the last 25 years of which were at the European Parliament in Luxembourg where he was Head of English and Irish Translation and, for about a year, Head of Romanian Translation. His main interests are- unsurprisingly - languages, castles, travel (he has an extensive collection of pr-war guidebooks), the EU and electoral reform. He was briefly a member of the Council of the Electoral Reform Society. He cofounded Cheltenham for Europe which won in the Brexit referendum. He is attempting to edit the diaries and correspondence of his father, a well-known genealogist. He is married with two children and three grandchildren.
