The current book aimed at investigating the difference between native and non-native writers with regard to their self-presentation and move structure in application letters. M.A. Iranian students and British students participated in this research. They were all asked to write an application letter. Native writers wrote their letters in English according to a job position as a University researcher, while Iranian writers were asked to follow the same procedure, except that they were supposed to write two types of letters, one in English and one in Persian with an interval of two weeks. The questions intended to compare the move analysis and self-presentation between native and non-native writers. The results revealed that a significant difference existed in presenting self with respect to work experience, professional affiliation, physical traits, self-glorification, and personality between native and non-native writers. Moreover, non-native writers displayed a significant difference in their English and Persian letters in introducing name, physical traits, motivations, self-glorification, discourse markers, strengths, and personality.
