Piker Clerk', 'Mr and Mrs' and 'When A Feller Needs A Friend'. Born in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, as the son of a farm machinery salesman, Briggs left his rural home in Lincoln, Nebraska, as a young man to try his luck at cartooning.
