Solution-Focus (SF) is an evidence-based approach used in therapy, coaching and training to help people change and learn quickly by building on the skills, motivations, and talents of each individual. This book offers nine solution-focused inspired children's stories designed to illustrate the basic principles of SF in as simple a way as possible; and eighteen activities to put the SF approach to work in the elementary and middle school classroom. Learn how to: - get your students involved in defining what a good classroom looks like, and get there using the "Work On What Works" technique; - help students develop their interests into a purpose for learning; - systematically do more of what works so that you can adapt your teaching style and techniques to your students; - teach students how to evaluate their progress using scaling questions and a "small progress diary"; and much more! "Mr. Bear wants to be loved" is a must-have for teachers and educators who seek an effective and practical way to help students flourish both personally and academically.
