"Mr. Froggy's Dilemma" is a children's true story about a frog badly in need of rescuing. As the reader will discover, Mr. Froggy got into trouble over his head as well as too big for his flippers. Perhaps in some ways we have all been there at one time or another. This story appeals to a child about seven to eleven years of age who is inquisitive about the natural environment. But, it may also be enjoyable to an adult who likes to read with children and who has had a similar surprise encounter with one of Mother Nature's creatures, like getting slightly pinched by one on the beach during a casual stroll. Mr. Froggy's Dilemma invites the young reader to answer some questions and to conduct outside research to augment the tale. If an adult is reading with the child, the story provides interactive windows of opportunity to explore science, climate change, and the environment. As the reader will discover, one feature makes Mr. Froggy exceptional. Here is a sample of reader comments: "This is such a lovely story. I like that it's written in the form of a letter to your grandchildren but also in a voice that engages any child in the adventure of Mr. Froggy." "Readers, old and young alike, will be touched by this grandfather's wish to share an encounter with nature with his beloved grandchildren. This book entertains, introduces scientific vocabulary and encourages children to step outside of their comfort zone. Lovely, tender and unique!"

Autorenporträt
James Mikel Wilson resides in Houston, Texas. Mr. Froggy's dilemma is his third book. He has also posted many blogs on his author website: www.jamesmikelwilson.com He can also be found on Instagram as @jamesmikelwilson The children in his life, both in his own family and families of friends and neighbors, inspired this true story about Mr. Froggy's dilemma. It started out as a long adventure letter to his grandchildren about a large, rare bullfrog that the author's dog eagerly chased into the swimming pool. The adventure morphed into a book as a result of encouragement from friends and family. As the young reader will discover, there are multiple ""dilemmas"" in the story. The explicit ones range from how will the frog escape the pool? Once it escapes, where does it go? What incentive does the frog need to pursue a new life and adventure? And, then there is the dilemma of climate change. Some implicit dilemmas that might surface for discussion with a child include acceptance, discrimination over physical differences, bullying, fear of change, and taking chances. The book introduces the young reader to a few scientific terms, asks the child to do a little research, and engages the child in coming up with solutions. These solutions even introduce the concepts of chapter titles. Why they are important. And, how they help a child organize and write her or his own stories. The book also deliberately challenges and broadens their vocabulary. Twelve early readers from Toronto, Boston, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Miami, St. Louis, Houston, The Woodlands, San Diego, and San Francisco endorsed the book.
