Haunted houses, paranormal pursuits, and now hot flashes? Someone, get this woman a drink. Connie Keys is ready to move on. After decades spent catering to her family, the fifty-something widow has an empty nest and a new career pairing compatible residents with haunted houses. Happily putting the feather duster away forever, she spends her days chatting up ghosts ... until her neglected vacuum cleaner sucks her attention back home with a cryptic warning of grave danger. Almost certain the crop circles in the carpet are nothing more than her ghostly husband's lame attempt to rekindle their relationship, she sets out to prove she doesn't need help from anyone, especially him - alive or dead. But when a routine property inspection goes awry, the independent spirit-whisperer realizes she may need some supernatural back-up if she is to survive a malevolent poltergeist hell-bent on her demise. Can she uncover the spooky specter's secret before she finds herself reunited with her hubby on the other side? Muddled in the Middle is the fast-paced prequel to the Extra-Ordinary Midlife Mysteries series. If you like heroines reinventing themselves, slightly scary mysteries, and a big dollop of humor, then you'll love Lynn M. Stout's spooky story. This book was previously published as Breaking Locks by Lynn M. Stout.
Autorenporträt
Lynn M. Stout grew up wandering the streets of Historic Downtown Jonesboro, Tennessee where she absorbed the town's rich history, fed her active imagination, and twisted her ankle on cobblestones. She is an unapologetic voyeur when it comes to old houses and has an unhealthy obsession with creepy staircases. She loves research and enjoys a deep dive into old stories, especially if a ghost is involved. She is married to her amazing and supportive husband of thirty years and is happy to report that she still likes him very much. As a recent empty-nester, she is finding adventure in Michigan and is pleasantly surprised to find that her southern roots don't object to cooler weather at all. She enjoys long walks with the Boxer, cuddling with her freakishly large cats, a good bottle (or two) of wine, and will continue to love Tennessee Volunteer Football no matter how bad it gets.
