Environment climate variability links to ecosystem changes in deep brackish lake, Tangra Yumco on the southern Tibetan Plateau. Saline lakes and their biota are sensitive indicators of past climate and environmental changes. The study employed multiple proxies (e.g., biological, chemical and physically parameters) to reconstruct past environmental climate history (e.g., monsoon climate, hydrology and trophic state) of Lake Tangra Yumco. The study contributes to multiple proxies induced limnological evolution of high mountains sacred saline lake, Tangra Yumco. Overall, the multiple indicators showed significant environmental signals (e.g., salinity, oxygennation and a switch from open to closed system) influenced by the India monsoon climate variability through the past 3, 300 cal B.P., an important contribution to Quaternary climate change. Multiple proxies palaeoenvironmental reconstruction offers a new insights to saline lake ecosystems response to climate change in semi - arid region.
