Autorenporträt

Juan Jose Revenga began his career in the world of press more than 20 years ago as a photojournalist and as a special envoy sent to the principal war zones: Nicaragua, El Salvador, Colombia, Chechnya, and Irak. Later he began to direct documentary series for TVE (Spain), for which he specialized in magic and the world's mysteries. As part of his work, he traveled to Haiti and the depths of the Amazonian jungle, lived and studied in the cradle of voodoo in Benin, and met the last cannibals of Papua Guinea and the pigmies of the Central African Republic. Later he was a correspondent in the Soviet Union for 3 years and, as a result, experienced first hand the political changes and traveled the great distances of the old empire. An expert in ethnobotany and indigenous tribes, he currently produces and directs documentary series for TVE. His work includes â oeAmÃ(c)rica MÃ-ticaâ and â oeAventura al Este de Java.â
