Author Tom Dirsa grew up on the tip of Cape Cod in Massachusetts. After graduating from university, he moved to Alberta, Canada in 1967, for two years, which became a lifetime. After a successful career as a teacher, basketball coach, and a school administrator that took him and his wife, Margaret, to New England, Saskatchewan, and many communities throughout Alberta, they retired to Leduc, Alberta in 2008. For three years Tom was a freelance reporter for the Pipestone-Flyer newspaper. He wrote a popular series of articles on the history of Leduc and District resulting in working with the Leduc Public Library on an updated history book which has now grown to three volumes. He worked with Red Line Editorial to write the first book in the Beach Street Books series called Canada Turns 150 titled Canada Becomes a Federation. Tom has published a series of children picture books on true incidents involving one of Tom's grandsons who was diagnosed with ADHD early in his life. Tom's books are available on Amazon or Lulu.com
