When a desperate young man strikes in Kettering, killing a woman and injuring several others, Detective Inspector Caitlin Murphy's world is turned upside down. Just as she begins to grapple with the aftermath, another body is discovered at Lac Sainte-Marine, deep in Ontario's picturesque cottage country. With no identification and few clues, Murphy and her homicide unit are plunged into a complex investigation that reveals layers of blackmail, religious fanaticism, and an unexpected serial killer. As Murphy navigates her own personal struggles with PTSD and a tempestuous relationship, she must piece together the identity of the victim and the motive behind the murders. The serene backdrop of forests and lakes contrasts sharply with the dark secrets she uncovers. Can Murphy find the real killer before more lives are lost, or will the peaceful facade of Lac Sainte-Marine be shattered forever? Liz McGillicuddy's Murder at Lac Sainte-Marine is a gripping thriller that blends psychological depth with heart-pounding suspense. It's a story of resilience, faith, and the relentless pursuit of justice.
