Matilda Hayward is determined to have a career, after all, it is 1888! Matilda enlists the help of her lawyer brother, Amos, to prove the giantess is no killer and to free her from a life of exploitation. But close family friend, Detective Thomas Ashdown - who might just have feelings for Matilda despite having known her since childhood - would prefer Matilda was nowhere near his murder case. There is mystery, danger, and love afoot!

With a background in journalism and marketing, Helen has pushed around film directors, worked for an AFL footy team, produced children's TV for Channel 7 and an Afternoon radio program for Macquarie Media, and edited community newspapers. She's also tried her hand at nursing, signed up to be a police cadet (and did time at the police academy), did a Diploma in Counselling, and lectured students in marketing. Helen is postgraduate qualified with majors in Literature, Communications and Media, and lives in Brisbane with her fellow-journalist husband, Chris, and Boxer dog, Hastings.
