Ashraf Shaikh was born in Mumbai in 1998. He studied at the University of Mumbai and later began to write novels. His first novel, Friendship, Love & Sacrifice, was published in 2016 He is one of those rare authors most people know about, whether they have read him or not. The difference is that Ashraf, with his ubiquitous writing, and easy wit, survives in imagination as a figure. Ashraf Shaikh has been regarded less as a writer dedicated to his craft than as a man of action who happened to be afflicted with writing a lot. He lives his life as a romantic, equally capable of great dedication to his craft and reckless squandering of his artistic capital. His writings are insightful and stylistic; today he is admired both as a poet and a remarkable novelist.
