Duchene Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a neuromuscular disease that is the most common and lethal form which has a significant lack of current research on life experiences of parents raising their afflicted child. Limited studies had been conducted in developed countries which revealed that parents of DMD child are facing different problems which affect directly their day to day life. Though the researchers all over the world are intensively involved in researching its various aspects to overcome this fatal disease, the complete treatment/cure cannot be expected overnight. Considering the multiethnic composition of Nepali population, the incidence of MD is similar to the rest of the world. There is limited scope for easy access on diagnosis, counseling and needy treatment for DMD child. This study will highlight the magnitude of the problems faced by parents and helps in fulfill these gaps.
