Mushaira is a poetic symposium. It is an event where poets gather to perform their poetries. A mushaira is part of the Culture of North India, Pakistan and all over world, But there has been no serious discussion on 'Mushaira' so far. Thousands of pages of magazines are published on ideas and genres like progressivism, modernism, post-modernism, colonialism, post-colonialism, poetry, fiction, novels, criticism, etc., and seminars are held. In this 'lockdown' season, when literary and cultural gatherings are also banned, 'Webinar' was invented. The atmosphere of 'online seminars' and 'live talk shows' is hot in social media, but among them, none of the sources chose the topic of 'Mushaira' for serious discussion.Ali Jawad Zaidi's best work on 'Mushaira'. In his book titled, 'Tareekh-e-Mushaira', he has not only narrated the origin of Urdu Mushaira and its rise and fall, but also discussed in detail about Arabic, Persian, Turkish and Hindi Mushaira. A summary of 'Tareekh-e-Mushaira' is included in this book. Bano Qudsia's thesis for MPhil/PhD is also included which she had written under the title 'Tradition of Urdu Mushaira: Literary and Cultural Aspects'. In addition, those articles which were scattered here and there in various magazines and books, and we found something useful in them, were all included in this book, so that different and conflicting materials on the subject under discussion can be found in one place. Readers are free to make their own opinion through these texts.
