Der Schweizer Musiker und Buchautor Richard Koechli ist ein grosser Kenner der amerikanischen Rootsmusik und ihrer Geschichte. Seine im AMA- und tredition-Verlag erschienenen Fachbücher und Musikromane sind renommierte Standardwerke (Deutscher Musikeditionspreis 2011); als Gitarrist und Singer/Songwriter wurde er mit dem Swiss Blues Award, dem Schweizer Filmmusikpreis sowie mit der Prix Walo-Nominierung ausgezeichnet.
