Das Bild vom Leben muslimischer Frauen gründet sich bei Nichtmuslimen noch immer auf klischeelastige Filme wie "Nicht ohne meine Tochter" und auf Abbildungen in vermeintlich kritischen Magazinen, die vollständig schwarz verschleierte Frauen in der Ansicht von hinten zeigen. Dass muslimische Frauen nicht den ganzen Tag weinend und unterdrückt zu Hause herumsitzen, will El Masrar mit gezielten Nadelstichen verdeutlichen. Die Gründerin des multikulturellen Magazins Gazelle stellt klar, dass ein Kopftuch für eine verheiratete muslimische Frau ein angemessenes Kleidungsstück ist, NUR ein Kleidungsstück und deshalb deren persönliche Angelegenheit. Wir erfahren, was genau eine Burka, ein Nijab, Hidschab und Tschador sind, die alle aus der Golfregion stammen. Deutlich wird, dass die als Rechtfertigung für Unterdrückung und Gewalttaten angeführte Angst um den Ruf muslimischer Familien nicht zu den Regeln des Islam gehört. Die Zuwanderung hochqualifizierter Akademiker aus dem Iran nach Deutschland (und die erfolgreiche Integration ihrer Kinder) zeigt, dass nicht pauschal alle Muslime als Türken etikettiert werden dürfen, wie ja auch nicht alle Migranten aus den Nahen Osten Muslime sind. "Staatsangehörigkeit heisst, man will an der Gesellschaft teilnehmen, dort wo man sich befindet" stellt El Masri für sich fest und untersucht, warum nur 20% der Muslime in Deutschland sich als Deutsche betrachten. Der deutsche Pass allein genügt dazu offenbar noch nicht. - Die Biografie der Autorin ist ein Paradebeispiel für den Bildungserfolg junger muslimischer Frauen, der häufig erst auf Umwegen erreicht wird. Sie lobt ihren weltoffenen Vater, stellvertretend für viele ehrenamtliche Hausaufgabenhelfer die Mutter einer Klassenkameradin, die mit beiden Mädchen für die Schule übte, Öffentliche Bibliotheken, die den Wissenshunger ihrer Generation stillten, und nennt ihren eigenen Ehrgeiz, zur Realschule zu gehen, um Französich zu lernen. Sparmaßnahmen zu Lasten der Einrichtungen, die Bildung und Chancengleichheit von Kindern mit Migrationshintergrund fördern, widersprechen der derzeit von Politikern vehement eingeforderten Verpflichtung zur Integration. - Eine klare Stellungnahme gibt Sineb Al Masrar für Deutsch als gemeinsame Sprache aller in Deutschland lebenden Menschen ab. Öffentliche Mittel sieht sie am Sinnvollsten in die frühkindliche Erziehung investiert, wo alle Kinder davon profitieren können, statt sie direkt den Eltern in die Hand zu geben. - Mit ansteckendem Humor, teils auch erfrischend respektlos, teilt die Autorin eine Fülle wissenswerter Details aus dem Alltag muslimischer Familien mit. Sie nimmt zum Klassenfahrtsverbot für muslimische Mädchen Stellung, lobt muslimische Frauen als Wirtschaftsfaktor (173 000 Betriebe werden in Deutschland von Frauen mit Migrationshintergrund geführt), informiert über Mode, Kosmetik und türkische Web-Communitys. Eine mediale Parallelwelt, die aktuell als Ursache misslungener Integration beklagt wird, sieht El Masrar nicht, da Migranten laut einer aktuellen Befragung mehrere Fernsehsender nutzen, auch deutsche. Unerwartet für mich war, wie hier eine junge Muslimin offen beschreibt, dass es wegen der Ungleichbehandlung von Mädchen und Jungen in muslimischen Familien heftigen Streit geben kann. - Ein Buch, das das Lebensgefühl junger muslimischer Frauen in flotter Sprache vermittelt und das ich mit Gewinn gelesen habe.
