Capsicum annuum L. (Hindi: Mirchi & English: Chilli) is an important vegetable cum spice crops and grown worldwide for ornamental, medicinal, pharmaceutical applications are a significant source of vitamins A and C. This book deals with AFLP-based genetic diversity present among and within the varieties of Capsicum sp., comparative changes in the biochemical composition due to effects of the induced mutation and assess the changes in the molecular characterization. AFLP technology evidenced valuable and convenient in describing genetic diversity among chilli genotypes. Physical mutagenic treatment plays an important role in improving crop-plants with regards to their economic use for mankind. This book helps the readers and researchers in understanding an induced mutation by UV-radiation on chilli plant leaves and its effect on plant cell composition and DNA structure and obtaining healthy and resistant plants for mutagenesis. The present investigation on chilli leaves was undertaken to find out the variability induced by different time intervals of UV-radiations. This book bring forward the fact that the mutation leads to different types of abnormalities in the plant sources.
