The institute is one of the reputed institutions of Bihar having a scenic well laid-out campus at Muzaffarpur. Its alumni hold responsible positions (some of them have reached top positions) in government departments, public sector and private sector organizations in India and abroad. MIT celebrated Golden Jubilee in 2004.
