This book is devoted to the life of one of America's greatest jurists, Frank W. Wilson. It discusses his early life, education, life in the military, political life, life as a trial lawyer and, finally, life as a federal judge. Although Judge Wilson served for some twenty years on the federal bench, he turned down opportunities to serve on the Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and was considered for a position on the United States Supreme Court. In addition to being a legal scholar, one of his finest qualities as a trial judge was to let the lawyers try their cases, and in twenty years, he never suffered from the affliction known as robitis. But he was not just a scholarly judge; he was an accomplished speaker with a quick, dry wit.
