James K Brown lived life as a farmer and rancher in the rolling hills just south of a small hamlet called Greenan, Saskatchewan. He took up poetry later in life to help him deal with the devastating drought suffered in the 1980s. He recited a lot of his poetry to friends and family and social gatherings throughout the immediate and surrounding areas. His poetry soon became very popular at community gatherings. He was invited to the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering but was unable to attend. James K. Brown passed away in July 2012.Daniel James Brown is the eldest son of James K Brown. He grew up with his father in the Greenan Hills. He experienced the hardships alongside his father, mother and siblings. He has spoken at many public and community gatherings over the years, both as an advocate and personal speaker. Interested in poetry and the written word at an early age, he decided to publish his father`s poetry as a tribute to an exceptional man and for all to share.Written by Daniel James Brown (Eldest Son)
